Salsa Fanatico - Street Latin Dance Performances
PRESENT | HISTORY

FANATICO HISTORY

The founding members of the company were members of Dragones Latinos, a Salsa performance company of Jitterbugs Swingapore, which under the direction of Lionel Araya, performed at the 4th Annual West Coast Salsa Congress in Los Angeles (2002). The group received standing ovations for their performance of "Wayang Latino", which was choreographed by Lionel, and is featured in the Albert Torres Productions DVD "Best Of The Best West Coast Salsa Congress 1999-2002".

With the resignation of Lionel as director of Dragones Latinos, and the decision to disband the performance company in March 2003, the majority of the original members decided to continue pursuing their passion and formed Salsa Fanatico as an independent Salsa performance company.

In December 2003, Salsa Fanatico and Jitterbugs Swingapore came to work together to provide professional standard Salsa and Casino Rueda performances. At the same time, most of the founding members teach at the studio, thus sharing their passion for the dance with people.
